Let us more and more insist on raising funds of love, of kindness, of understanding, of peace. The rest will be given. –Mother Teresa
Peruvian Hearts believes in the dignity and value of every child, and works to transform the lives of orphans and other children living in poverty in Peru through improved education, nutrition, and health care.
Concurrent with our primary mission, Peruvian Hearts strives to educate youth around the world about the importance and value of giving back while inspiring them to become involved in service and philanthropy.
The following principles reflect the Peruvian Hearts board of directors’ beliefs about the role of Peruvian Hearts and the impact we want the organization to have. These principles guide our decisions as to what we do, why we do it, and how we do it.
Many of these principles are fundamental to the way Peruvian Hearts operates, however we remain open to amending them as we continue to grow and learn more about our work.
We advocate passionately but responsibly to fulfill our mission.
Fulfilling our mission requires careful stewardship of our funds.
We demand ethical behavior of ourselves and our partners.
We value and respect cultural differences.
We value, encourage and support community involvement in our projects and programs.
