Q: What is Peruvian Hearts?
A: Peruvian Hearts is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of orphans and other children living in poverty in Peru through improved education, nutrition, and health care. Ana Dodson founded Peruvian Hearts in 2003, when she was only 11 years old. Visit Ana's Story to read more.

Q: Is Peruvian Hearts a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization?
A: Yes. Peruvian Hearts is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization registered with the United States Internal Revenue Service. You can verify this by visiting our profile pages on Idealist.org or Guidestar.org.

Q: How do I make a donation?
A: Peruvian Hearts accepts checks, money orders, and all major credit cards. Visit our Donate page for more information. Checks and money orders should be made out to Peruvian Hearts and mailed to:

Peruvian Hearts also accepts in-kind donations for certain items: children's multi-vitamins, school supplies, toiletries, children's books in Spanish, and children's clothing in excellent condition. These items should be mailed to the same above address.

Q: Where will my donation go?
A: Peruvian Hearts uses donations to fund projects in Peru (see Who We Support) and understands the importance of making sure your gift goes directly toward helping the children. It is also necessary for Peruvian Hearts to spend a portion of donations on administrative and fundraising costs.

Q: Is my donation tax deductible?
A: Peruvian Hearts is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, so your donation to Peruvian Hearts may be tax deductible. However, we recommend that you speak to your tax consultant.

Q: What are some other ways I can get involved and help Peruvian Hearts?
A: Be sure to visit Get Involved for many different and meaningful ways that you can help support our cause. There are several different and meaningful ways that you can support our cause including, Sponsoring a girl, Hosting a fundraiser, Traveling to Peru, Connecting us with a youth club, and volunteering your time.

Q: How can I verify that Peruvian Hearts is legitimate?
A: Peruvian Hearts is registered with Idealist.org and Guidestar.org, which both evaluate and list registered non-profit organizations.

Q: How can I adopt a child from Peru?
A: Peruvian Hearts does not handle any adoptions from Peru. If you have further questions about adopting a child from Peru or regarding adoption in general, please contact your nearest adoption agency or visit the Hands Across the Water International Adoption Agency website at www.hatw.org.

Q: Can you help me arrange a trip to Peru?
